Making your own Shadows

Published by inkypaws at 10:03 pm under Fun stuff

There was a thread on Splitcoast a few days ago about some oval stamps that are being used for the shadows on the stamps from www.stampinbella.com. I thought to myself…….hmmmmmm…..can’t be too hard to make myself. So I went to my bag of extra rubber (you know you have a bag) and cut out some simple shapes. I mounted all of them on EZmount.

Here are my shapes:

And here’s a card I did using one of the shadow shapes:

Stamps: Small Sayings, Walkabella from www.stampingbella.com

Paper: Mellow Moss, Whisper White, Barely Banana

Inks: StaZon Black, Barely Banana

Accessories: Markers, Ribbon

Jeanne!! You have a blog!!! How exciting ~~~ I *may* have mentioned this before (LOL) but you are one of my favorites & I’m so happy I get to follow your creativity step by step. I haven’t bought a Bella yet, even with all the hype, but this is too darn adorable & may just drive me over the edge!!! Love your self-made ovals, too ~~ who needs to buy ‘em when you can make ‘em?!?

What a great idea! I love the shadows you have made. I never keep scrap rubber because I had no idea what to do with it. But this is a great way to use some of those scraps. Hmmmm… I just cut some stamps the other night. Maybe the scraps are still in the box in the big trash can. How sad would that be? Me digging through the trash to find rubber scraps! lol

Jeanne, what a clever idea! Now I’d better keep all of those pieces I cut off. Better go thru the trash by my stamping stuff before my son takes it out tommorrow.

WOW what a great idea. TFS.

  26. Julie Phillipson 02 Mar 2007 at 7:24 am

Way cute! Did you know that you can take any sizzix shape and cut it out of fun foam (I like the kind where the back is sticky already) and then mount that onto clear vinyl or just mount it onto the foam that you buy for unmounteds…. gives a whole bunch of choices for shadow stamps.
    Hugs
