Making your own Shadows
There was a thread on Splitcoast a few days ago about some oval stamps that are being used for the shadows on the stamps from www.stampinbella.com. I thought to myself…….hmmmmmm…..can’t be too hard to make myself. So I went to my bag of extra rubber (you know you have a bag) and cut out some simple shapes. I mounted all of them on EZmount.
Here are my shapes:
And here’s a card I did using one of the shadow shapes:
Stamps: Small Sayings, Walkabella from www.stampingbella.com
Paper: Mellow Moss, Whisper White, Barely Banana
Inks: StaZon Black, Barely Banana
Accessories: Markers, Ribbon

Jeanne!! You have a blog!!! How exciting ~~~ I *may* have mentioned this before (LOL) but you are one of my favorites & I’m so happy I get to follow your creativity step by step. I haven’t bought a Bella yet, even with all the hype, but this is too darn adorable & may just drive me over the edge!!! Love your self-made ovals, too ~~ who needs to buy ‘em when you can make ‘em?!?
Brilliant! Now where did I put that bag o’ rubbah?! I’m so excited that you have a blog now. Adding you to my favorites right away!
Very cool idea! Looks great on your card!
What a great idea! I love the shadows you have made. I never keep scrap rubber because I had no idea what to do with it. But this is a great way to use some of those scraps. Hmmmm… I just cut some stamps the other night. Maybe the scraps are still in the box in the big trash can. How sad would that be? Me digging through the trash to find rubber scraps! lol
What a FABULOUS idea. Thanks so much for sharing and I love your cards. What talent you have!!!
Jeanne you are so clever! What an excellent idea - TFS
Jeanne, what a clever idea! Now I’d better keep all of those pieces I cut off. Better go thru the trash by my stamping stuff before my son takes it out tommorrow.
oh wow! You’ve got Bellas!!! And I *love* your shadow stamps!!! Must try that! You know I love your work!
That totally ROCKS!!!!
Now you make me wish that I kept all my little bits of rubber, but no, I throw them all away. This looks fantastic though Jeanne, great idea!
Sounds like an excuse to buy more stamps Ally…..hehe
OMG, I totally love this idea, I must do this!!!
btw, you need a link to be able to subscribe to your blog!
You’re so smart!
Girl…..that is too freaking smart. I have been dumping all my extra rubber, but I will have to save it again! You are sooo amazing!
What a great idea! I should’ve kept my extra rubber!
I did the same with extra SU rubber and used club Scrap velcro system ….but I like the wave in yours so back to my scraps …also love your cards and look for your cards first on SCS…thanks DD
Super cute Jeanne! Love those colors and the great shape idea! Will have to try it out!
Your so creative, I would have never thought to make a shadow this way… I love your card
How creative!! I wish I hadn’t thrown out all those big rubber pieces now!
*sniff*
Jeanne, you go girl! I love it!

I thought I was the only one who saved big bits of scrap rubber! ( Big Blossom was great for this)
Great idea to make all kinds of shadow shapes. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.
Your are so Creative.. I love your idea about using them for Shadow stamp.
Next order of stamps I get I’m going to have to save my rub-ber and make some Cool Shadow stamps!!
WOW what a great idea. TFS.
Way cute! Did you know that you can take any sizzix shape and cut it out of fun foam (I like the kind where the back is sticky already) and then mount that onto clear vinyl or just mount it onto the foam that you buy for unmounteds…. gives a whole bunch of choices for shadow stamps.
Hugs

This is EXACTLY what I needed!! I’ve been debating over buying the “shadow” stamps and this is a wonderful alternative for me. Thanks Jeanne
Wow, Jean. I knew you were a brilliant stamper and artist, but an inventor too? Way too cool! What a great idea. Now If only I had saved all those scraps from big blossom . . .
