Copic Ciao / SU color matches
I have the Copic Ciao markers (4 sets) and I found good matches for most of the SU colors among my sets. The colors that I didn’t find a close match to were Perfect Plum, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Bravo Burgandy, Bordering Blue, Close to Cocoa & Ruby Red. There are colors that are similar to most of these colors but I wouldn’t say they were close enough to call them a match.
Among my colors are a beautiful selection of browns, reds and pinks, just not a match to the above colors.
These are the color matches (very close in color) that I came up with:
Pale Plum - V95 Light Grape
Pretty in Pink - R32 Peach
Blush Blossom - E11 Barely Beige
Apricot Appeal - YR20 Yellowish Shade
Barely Banana - Y11 Pale Yellow
Certainly Celery - G21 Lime Green

Lovely Lilac - BV17 Deep Reddish Blue
Brilliant Blue - B29 Ultramarine

Thanks so much for this Jeanne!! Ive been waiting for something like this before I decided which markers I wanted to get! I thinks you just pushed me off the fence!LOL!
Hey Jeanne
You rock! Question- Are these color matching from the 2 sets Kim @ MFT sells or are they included in all 4 sets?
Clear as mudd? LOL!
Thanks a lot
Thanks for sharing all yoru hard work. I have just ordered these markers and can’t wait.
You really aren’t going to stop until I order these are you?! I think I’d better just go ahead and place my order! My fear is that I won’t be able to produce anything near as nice as what you’ve posted!
Thanks! Does this mean they match or coordinate with the copic markers. I have all the SU markers. Do the copic markers work differently? Thanks so much for all your hard work! I am just trying to figure out the difference. I would like some more markers, but don’t want to get the same colors, and this really helps. Chris
LOL,
Now I see similiar but not close to a match..That is what I get for reading ahead sometimes. Thanks!
Lauren - This list is from all 4 sets - from http://www.MFTstamps.com
Chris - The Copic markers are a different medium than the SU markers. They are alcohol based. They blend wonderfully and no streaky lines.
You rock, Jeanne! I am glad you did this. Now I don’t have to! LOL
I’d like to hear your pronunciation of Phthalo.
Ok….I have to keep this link….wink, wink….!
Thanks for going through them and doing this–it will make my life easier!
Jeanne, Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! YOU ROCK!!! I want to order from MFT but only want to get 2 sets, now I’ll be able to order the 2 sets that together have the most SU colors.
Kim- The PH is silent - so it sounds like thalo
I used to watch Bob Ross all the time……lol
You’re awesome!!! (as if you didn’t know!)
Thanks for the great info.
What’s your one favorite set of Copics so far?
Thank you Jeanne! I really really want these.. can you recommend a couple skin tone colors as well as a gray or two for shadowing?
Love your blog!
-Ginna
Whoa! What a sweet endeavor, Jeanne!
Thanks for the great into Jeanne! This is fabulous!
How do you blend with the Copic Markers? Being alcohol based, they probably dry very quickly and don’t allow time to blend…the same way a Sharpie marker works, I am assuming… can you tell me how you blend these without streaking… would love to know how you do this so nicely.. Thanks for any info.
Donna
Wow! Thanks, Jeanne! Although by the time my Copic collection is half this size, my printed list will be well-worn, I’m sure! My collection has begun however, thanks the the Great American Scrapbook Convention recently! Yay!

I ordered my Copic markers online from Kim today. I cannot wait to get them. I will have to call for over the phone lessions.
Thank you so much for doing this. I want to start buying the Copic markers and this color comparison is awesome. Thank you!
Thank you for this! I’ve been considering trying these markers but wasn’t sure where to start. Have a great 4th!
Thanks, Jeanne! Are there any matches for the new In Colors?
Smiles,
Anne
wow, so nice of you to do all this work and then you share. Your so kind and thank you.
Awwwwwwww, you do love all of us, don’t you!?
Even though you just keep nudging, and nudging, and nudging ……
I’ll admit …. my collection has started, but I do NOT have plans of matching your collection in numbers! hahaha
~Tex
Thanks so much!! THis is great!! One question…why did you choose Ciao’s over Sketch’s? I’m really wanting to buy, but I want to be sure which ones I want first!! Thanks for the advice and the color match!!
