Quick card

Published by inkypaws under Lizzie Anne Designs

Julia’s WT113 Challenge today was to make a card using small stamps. I made a quick 4 1/4″ square card using this cute little butterfly stamp from Lizzie Anne Designs. The scalloped edge was made with a small corner rounder. I sponged the background with Ice Blue Colobox Chalk ink.

The butterfly image was colored with Copic markers (hehe…..what else?).

I used these markers:

Butterfly - Violet -V09, Lilac -V04, Mallow - V15

Butterfly shadow - Cool Grey #3

I colored the butterfly and then removed color in the center using the Colorless Blender pen. I also used the blender pen to soften the shadow lines.

Stamps: Blissful blossoms, Simply Sentiments - Lizzie Anne Designs

Ink: Noir Black Palette, Ice Blue Colorbox Chalk

Paper: Georgia Pacific White, Brocade Blue

Accessories: Black Gingham, Sponge

I have 144 yummy colors!!! I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am! I got a great deal from My Favorite Things on the Copic markers (and Kim’s as speedy as they come on shipping :) ). These markers are refillable so they last forever. Gorgeous rich colors and they blend so nicely. I just can’t say enough about them.

Cat’s Meow

Published by inkypaws under Fun stuff

Today’s challenge TLC116 was to make a quick card. This one was extra quick because I had colored the main kitty image last night while watching Survivor.

The main image was colored with Prismacolor and Copic markers. I have a small set of the Prismacolor markers and about a dozen of the Copics. I’ve been playing with these fun alcohol based markers for a few weeks now and have decided that the Copics are the ones that I wanted. The Prismacolors just don’t lay down as smoothly and blend as nicely as the Copics.

So…… tomorrow I’ll have all 4 sets of the Copic Ciao markers -144 colors……..YEAH BABY!!! I can’t wait. I got mine from Kim at My Favorite Things. She has just started carrying the (not even on the website yet). You can see them at her blog: http://www.mftstamps.blogspot.com/ .

More gushing about the markers……hehe. I discovered something kinda cool while making this card. The colorless blender pen can make some fun dots. The ink in these pens are alcohol based and so is the colorless blender pen (I used the Prismacolor Colorless blender for this one). It works almost like a bleach pen when you add it to the ink. So for the background dots all I did was color the image and then go back and dot with the blender pen. It lightens the ink and poof……polka dots. How fun is that! I also used the colorless blender pen to take ink off the cheeks.

Stamps: Cat ‘n Dog - My Favorite Things

Paper - Georgia Pacific white (sold at Walmart……works great with the pens), Apricot Appeal, Bravo Burgandy

Ink - Noir Black Palette, Bravo Burgandy marker

Accessories: Prismacolor and Copic markers, Cranberry Stitched GG Ribbon
