Paper Piecing Take two……

Published by inkypaws at 9:06 pm under Fun stuff

Here’s another Paper Piecing tutorial. This is such a fun technique I figured I needed to do another step by step for you to try!

All stamps are from My Favorite Things

Stamps: You Take the Cake, Behind the Scenes - My Favorite Things

Paper: Whisper White, Blush Blossom, Apricot Appeal, Chocolate Chip, DP from DCWV

Ink: Noir Black Palette, Creamy Caramel

Accessories: Markers, Diamond Stickles, Sharp Scissors, Ribbon from IQ Accessories

Step 1 -

Stamp you images. Here’s what I used:

Dress and background - DP from DCWV

Arms - Blush Blossom (or any flesh looking color)

Cake - Close to Cocoa (or off white if you want a white cake)

Add shadows and glitter. I used markers for the shadows on the cake, dots on dress and candles.

Step 2-

Cut out your pieces. I sponged the inside edge of the dress with a little red for shading.

Step 3:

Assemble your pieces onto the background piece. I did it in this order:

1. Dress

2. Arms

3. Cake

Finish your card!

Thank you so much for putting this into understandable terms. :-) I love the way this looks, but was thinking it would be pretty hard to pull off. The card is so pretty!

I’m so glad you posted the tutorial, I’d played around some with that but only with 2 kinds of paper, glad you gave more details. Thank you!

Thanks so much for this tutorial. I have been seeing these cards and was not quite sure how to do it. I know I could have figured it out, but it is great to see it spelled out. I do not want to waste valuable stamping time doing it all wrong!

Awesome!! I always wondered how gals had the patience to paperpiece those “wallpaper” backgrounds. Now I know - it doesn’t take patience - it takes genius! Thanks for sharing!
