New Year’s Eve

Published by inkypaws under Rubbernecker Stamps

It’s New Year’s Eve! Dang this year has gone by fast.

So in celebration of the new year….. Here’s a Party Frog!!!

The challenge on SCS today was to do a Split Image card. I used it for my background. I cut 2 pieces of cardstock 2 1/2″ X 5 ” and laid them out like a square. I stamped the Happy New Year stamp repeatedly to create the background in VersaMark ink. I sprinkled Amethyst embossing powder on the Guava CS and heat set. I used Fall Splendor embossing powder on the Lavender CS. I sponged all the edges of the two pieces of CS in Ranger Distress Walnut Stain. Added the ribbon and adhered to the White CS panel.

The Party Frog was stamped in Ranger Distress ink on Georgia Pacific CS. He was then colored with Copic markers. I added a little Diamond Stickles to his party hat and the confetti.

More Weekend Challenge Cards

Published by inkypaws under High Hopes, Whipper Snapper

As I mentioned yesterday there were some challenges thrown out for this weekend:

1- Make a one layer card (showed you this one yesterday)

2- Use a brand new stamp

3- Use a stamp that you had for a while that is being neglected.

I was a busy beaver and finished the other two challenges.

The first card is with a new stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. It is part of the December Project of the Month package. And will also be available as a single stamp on January 1st.

The image was colored with Copic Markers. The sky was sponged with Ranger Distress Broken China ink. The Distress inks are the absolute best for sponging. They stay wet just long enough to get a nice smooth blend with the sponge.

Here’s a peek at the products I used for these cards. Inks can be found HERE.

The second card is for the “Neglected Stamp”. I chose this cute kitty from Whipper Snapper Designs that’s been sitting lonely an uninked for quite a while.

The image was colored with Copic Markers and the Sky was sponged with Ranger Broken China Ink. I sponged the edges of the pink and patterned paper panels with Ranger Distress Walnut Stain ink.

Weekend Challenges

Published by inkypaws under Rubbernecker Stamps

Some of the girls over at SCS decided to do some challenges this weekend. Nothing formal, just to get some creative juices flowing. Here are the 3 challenges:

1- Make a one layer card (this is the one I’ll be showing in this post)

2- Use a brand new stamp

3- Use a stamp that you had for a while that is being neglected.

I decided to use two brand new stamps from Rubbernecker Stamp Co. (from the Stamp Oasis section). I thought this sentiment was perfect for the end of what’s been a challenging year for me. It’s been a year of lots of new and exciting things and some sadness. I lost people who were dear to me….. but I also gained many new friends. Rhythms.

Here’s my One Layer (with brand new stamps) card:

The butterfly and sentiment were stamped in Ranger Distress Walnut Stain on white CS. I added the dotty “flight trail” with an Faber-Castell Artist Pen. The butterfly was colored with Primacolor Pencils (Orange, Orange Soleil) and blended with Gamsol (odorless mineral spirits) and a blending stump. I used the Gris Francais 70% pencil to shadow the butterfly, flight trail and the letters on the sentiment.

The edge of the card was sponged in Ranger Distress Tea Dye ink and a sponge. I doodled the corner details with an Artist Pen and added little dots with a White gel pen. I added ribbon and hemp.

Stamps:1644 SO Rhythms of Life text, 609 SO Fancy Butterfly - Rubbernecker Stamp Co.
Paper: White Cardstock

Ink: Ranger Distress Walnut Stain & Tea Dye

Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Guava Ribbon, Hemp, White Gel pen, Faber-Castell Artist Pen, Sponge
