I decided to make a wintery card for the Sketch. What better to use than my favorite snowflakes from Rubbernecker Stamp Company.

The snowflakes come in a set of 3 and I used the small and the medium size for this card. I stamped randomly with the snowflakes (medium in Ranger Distress Broken China, small in Faded Jeans) on white CS and then used a 1 1/4″ square punch to cut the squares. I sponged the edges of each square and mounted then on 1 3/8″ squares of Navy CS.

The light blue background was made by spraying white CS with a homemade Shimmer Spray (a la Tim Holtz’s recipe!). It is so sparkly and pretty. The Shimmer Spray was made by mixing one dropper full of Ranger Distress reinker (Broken China) and about a 1/4 teaspoon of Perfect Pearls (Perfect Sparkle) to an ounce of water in a small spray bottle. Shake well and spray lightly. Pearl Ex will not work for the Shimmer Spray - it won’t stick. Perfect Pearls has a binder in it that reacts to the water and makes it work.

The snowflake accent started out as a paper Snowflake Brad Set from Making Memories. I laid the snowflake on a piece of plastic and covered it with Star Dust Stickles.
