JBWW Distressed

I got something new to play with!

It’s called Grungeboard. What a cool product. At first glance it looks like textured chipboard, but it is so much better! It is flexible (they have hinges, which you can actually use as hinges), and it takes inks, paints and color washes wonderfully. It doesn’t get all soggy or funky when you get it wet like chipboard. Fun stuff!!!!

For this project I started out with a 4″ chipboard coaster. I used the Ink Blending Tool to smoosh (technical term :) ) Ranger Distress Antique Linen ink onto the entire coaster (front and back). I stamped the brown snowfakes randomly and then sponged the edges with RD Walnut Stain ink. I wet the coaster slightly with a Mini Mister (just water) and distressed it with an nail file (couldn’t find my sanding block). I dried it with a Heat Tool and then stamped more snowflakes in RD Vintage Photo ink. The next step was to stamp the leaves in RD Peeled Paint and the berries in RD Fired Brick. I wet the leaves and berries slightly with a water brush to let the ink bleed a little. That gave it a softer look. I punched the holes on all 4 corners with a 1/8″ hole punch and added eyelets.H

The grungeboard was inked in Ranger Distress Walnut Stain. I dried it with a heat tool and then just hit the high spots on the texture with Gold Encore ink. I sprinkled Gold embossing powder on, shook off excess and then embossed with the heat tool. I used a 1/16′ hole punch - no problem cutting through the Grungeboard - and placed the brads. The “B” was attached to the coaster with glue dots.

    Ooh B is for BALCER!!! I love that grungeboard - I got the letters and the swirly stuff in that pattern and the dots, too. It’s SEXY stuff. Feels soo good! Love it!
