I’ve been so busy making goodies for everyone else I thought it was high time that I make something just for me. I had this pretty fuchsia edged journal from Target and I thought hmmm…… GRUNGEBOARD!!!

jmsrn-grungeboard-j-notebook-copy.jpg

I covered the notebook to the edge of the fuchsia binding with Basic Grey Lucky paper. I used my ATG gun to attach it. I sanded the edge just a bit to get rid of the paper ridge and then sponged in Ranger Distress Tea Dye ink.

The “J” Grungeboard letter was first sponged in Adirondack Raspberry with a Ranger InkBlending Tool which is excellent for getting the ink into all the little indentions in the grungeboard. I then used the InkBlending Tool lightly with Adirondack Current ink to hit the high spots on the pattern. I punch 2 holes and added eyelets and then Cream GG ribbon. The “J”matches the binding color a lot closer in person than the camera captured. You can blame the photographer for that I’m sure.

I cut a circle with a Marvy Giga Circle punch to highlight the flower. I sponged the edge with Ranger Distress Tea Dye ink.

The flower image was stamped in StazOn Black and watercolored with a waterbrush and Adirondack Raspberry and Current inks. The flower was part of a larger stamp so I cut out the flower that I needed for the project.

After I cut the flower out I applied Versamark ink and Utee Ultra Thick embossing powder and heated it with a heat tool. I applied another layer of Utee and while it was still hot set the beads in for the flower center. I heated again and sprinkled a little more Utee and heat it just to make sure the beads were embedded well.

Here are the products I used to make the journal.

So what did everybody get for Christmas? I did GOOD!!!

My hubby got me a beautiful black opal necklace & a Bose headphones!!! Wowzers

On top of that Santa Dave (The Man!) from Rubbernecker Stamp Co. sent me a big ‘ole box of stamps to play with, so you’ll be seeing a whole bunch of new images. Here’s a card made with some of my new rubber stash.

Other than the accent circle behind the fancy brad this card is made with white cardstock.

The girl image was colored with Copic markers. The outer edge of the circle and the card base was sponged in Ranger Distress Faded Jeans. The pearl necklace was accented with Liquid Pearls (White Pearl). I squeezed a bit out and used a teeny paintbrush to apply it. The dots of Liquid Pearls on the outer edge of the circle were done by dotting from the bottle. I mixed a little Ranger Perfect Pearls (Perfect Sparkle) with Glossy Accents and painted it on the bubbles for a little sparkle.

The Baroque Background was stamped in Ranger Distress Faded Jeans (stamped off once to lighten) and then I sponged the entire background lightly with Faded Jeans ink.

Here’s the images & products used to make this product. They can be found at Rubbernecker Stamp Co.
