Copper Fairy

If you haunt the gallery and forums at Splitcoast

I was playing around with Adirondack Alcohol inks and came up you this yummy background. It was done with Mushroom, Terra Cotta and Copper inks.

I added a few drops of all three inks and a few drops of Alcohol Blending solution to an Ink Blending Tool with a removable felt pad. I pounced the Ink Blending Tool on Glossy White CS until I covered the CS. When I got the ink the way I wanted it I tipped the bottle of Ink Blending Solution and splashed a few drips onto my background. This causes the inks to spread in a circle pattern. I then dried the ink with a heat tool.

The fairy image was stamped in Ranger Distress Black Soot and then dried with the heat tool just to make sure the ink was set (not sure if I needed to do this, but I didn’t want anything to smudge). I then colored some areas in with Copic markers. I was going for a kinda arty look so I roughly put a little color in with the markers. I then heat set again, just to make certain everything was set.

Pieced Daisy

Published by inkypaws under Whipper Snapper

Jen’s Ways to Use it Challenge this week is to use scraps. I hear scraps and I think Paper Piecing.

I used Anna Wight’s new set from Whipper Snapper Designs called Posies for You.

I stamped the flower on White, Olive, Banana CS and Soft Sky DP in Ranger Distress Black Soot. I added some shading to everything with Copic markers and then cut out all the pieces and assembled. I stamped the bucket on Guava CS and cut out.

I assembled all the pieces onto the punched rectangle. The flower and bucket are popped up on foam tape.
