Charge!

Published by inkypaws under High Hopes

There a ton of fun new jungle images over at High Hopes Rubber Stamps! They’ve just arrive on my doorstep and I had a heck of a time trying to figure out what to play with first…hehe

I finally decided on this cute Rhino (Chrissy even made a Rhino cute….. she is amazing!), because this phrase cracked me up.

The Rhino was stamped on Georgia Pacific White CS and colored with Copic markers. The grassy area was colored in with a green marker and then I added a few blades of grass with a darker green marker. The sky area was sponged with Ranger Distress Faded Jeans ink and the grass area was sponged with Peeled Paint.

DCON08 Dirty Girls Challenge - Old is New Again

Published by inkypaws under Fun stuff

Once a month the SCS Dirty Dozen and Dirty Dozen Alumni get together and do a challenge. Here’s the rules for this month:

Challenge Focus: Use one of the oldest stamp sets you own along with embellishments and supplies you’ve had for what seems like forever.

Required Element: RAK - you must mail your card out as a RAK on 3/20 to any DD/DDA - could be a birthday, get well, thinking of you, invite to come play with us, congratulations or just totally random no particular reason RAK. You do not need to tell us who you mailed your card to. For all addresses see the SMAK the DD thread.

Restricted Element: No stamps, tools, or supplies purchased or obtained within the last 6 months. We’re on the honor system here girls, so use your judgement to keep within the spirit of the challenge.

Bonus Challenge: Use a technique or style you haven’t used in a long time, but was a favorite at some point in your stamping past.

This card was created with a two old Su! sets and a background.

I used the Faux Linen technique with a bit of a twist. Step by step directions for the background can be can be found —> HERE.

The image was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. After I was finished coloring I stamped the Linen Background over the top of the image in Vintage Photo ink.

Here’s a technique for a background with lots of texture.

Supplies: Glossy White CS, Ink ( I used Ranger Distress Vintage Photo and Aged Mohogany), sponge, 100 grit sandpaper, stamp from Long Time Friend (SU!)

Step #1

Step #7

You can leave your background the way it is or you can add an image. I used the little flower from Long Time Friend from Su! I stamped it in a diagonal pattern with Vintage Photo ink.
