RBC05 It’s Your Day (for Blog Candy!)

Published by inkypaws at 10:06 pm under Rubbernecker Stamps

Are you ready for this week’s

Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge (RBC05)?

This weeks colors: Yellow, Red and Green

I also have some blog candy to give away! You don’t have to play in the blogger challenge to enter. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite tool in your stamp room. I will be choosing a randomly selected winner Tuesday April 15th at 3:00 CT.

The winner will receive a $10 Rubber Bucks certificate!

Here’s my card for today’s challenge. The image was colored with Copic markers. I cut out the circle with Nestabilities and before popping the image from the die I sponged with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink.

jmsrn-rbc05-its-your-day-copy.jpg

The background was made by inking the stamp with Ranger Distress Scattered Straw ink. On some of the flourishes I inked and then stamped off on scratch paper to lighten.

My favorite tool in my stamp room is all of my paper punches. I just can’t make a card without them–whether it’s just a simple corner rounder punch, a word window punch, or my layered scalloped punches, you can always see the work of a paper punch on each of my cards!

  2. Rachel Hopeon 13 Apr 2008 at 10:58 pm

    Favorite tool…hmmm….

Well, the one that I use the most and could not make a card without is my CM Personal Cutter…it always cuts straight and smooth, couldn’t layer without it!

  3. Phyllis Gunnon 14 Apr 2008 at 4:28 am

Wonder if you can consider “glue” a tool??? That’s got to be my favorite tool. Especially Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive. You could say it holds my life together. Easy to use, no muss no fuss.

  4. Shelly aka papermoon04on 14 Apr 2008 at 4:39 am

Gorgeous use of the colors Jeanne, I love the sunflowers.

  5. Vicky Gouldon 14 Apr 2008 at 5:21 am

OMG, I love that card, Jeanne - it’s just fabulous!

Now, as to choosing a tool . . . that’s a hard one, but I’d have to say the cuttlebug - I love the bgs it makes and use it soo much! No, wait, maybe it’s my guillotine paper cutter? I dunno for sure. Have a great day.

  6. Cheryl Simson 14 Apr 2008 at 5:33 am

Whatever tool I am using at the moment is my favorite tool. Right now I am using my big shot with Cuttlebug folders. I consider my stamping room my playroom. I can spend hours in here just having fun. thanks for sharing your creations. You are one of my favorite stampers ever since I discovered Splitcoast.

Beautiful card, Jeanne! I really need to try masking with the nesties. It looks soooo good!!

  8. cwilliamson 14 Apr 2008 at 6:06 am

    Beautiful Jeanne!!

  9. Lisa (lakind)on 14 Apr 2008 at 7:10 am

My favorite tool? Hmmm…my Scor-Pal! Before this, my cards were folded in half and did not leave a nice seam. I love that thing for all projects! I use it for decorative embossing also. It’s just a wonderful little invention! Your card is beautiful and so are all of them!

  10. Jenniferon 14 Apr 2008 at 7:17 am

    Beautiful card.

My favorite tool??? I guess I would have to say my punches.

  11. Aimeeon 14 Apr 2008 at 7:32 am

  12. Sherry Cheeveron 14 Apr 2008 at 7:37 am

    Beautiful card!

  13. Starla(star)on 14 Apr 2008 at 7:47 am

hmmmm……….when I saw today’s colors I immediately thought of my daisy stamp from RN! YIKES….might be a tad too similar to yours!! hehe….

favorite tool….my stampamajig. I use it for layout ideas (has cut down on my trash pile) in addition to just lining up images. LOVE that thing!!

  14. Michelle Oatmanon 14 Apr 2008 at 8:12 am

Limiting it to just one…. well that is hard, I have three new toys that I am really excited about -

I got my nestibilities this past month lovin them!
I got my ATG gun, wow saving tons of $ on adhesive, so more towards stamps now! LOL
And I just got my Scor-pal, and it seems I should have broke down and got it much sooner!

But I still love my cuttlebug and my embossing folders a whole lot!

    Love the card BTW!

  15. Deniseon 14 Apr 2008 at 9:21 am

My fave tool is my tape gun…how did I live without it.

  16. Heatheron 14 Apr 2008 at 10:07 am

    Gorgeous card!!!
My fav tool is definitely my cuttlebug. Best crafting investment ever!

  17. kim3timemomon 14 Apr 2008 at 10:17 am

My favorite tool would probably be my cuttlebug. So fun!! Thanks so much for the chance to win.

  18. Idaon 14 Apr 2008 at 10:23 am

Super pretty card! - Favorite Tool…Hmmm I think I love my paper piercing tool the most lately as I seem to want to use it on almost every card I make lately.

  19. kittie747on 14 Apr 2008 at 10:23 am

Jeanne, I love this flower. It is gorgeous. I’m not entering the blog candy but wanted to say I could not live without my paint brushes. Watercolor paper comes in second!

  20. Jennifer Hodgeon 14 Apr 2008 at 10:27 am

I was going to say my favorite tool was my crop-a-dile until I scrolled down and saw the nesties! So it has to be a tie between my nesties and my crop-a-dile!

  21. mary anne k.on 14 Apr 2008 at 10:53 am

There is a tool that I use more often than any other. It is a piercing tool. I have had it for a few years. Possibly sold seperately by Making Memories? I call it my 3rd hand. Everyone in my household knows what to run and get for me when I ask for my third hand. I use it pick off glue dots and place them in tight places. I use it for placing little seed beads into glue for flower centers. I use it to tuck ribbon through holes that are too small. It is great for tucking in edges that decide to stick out at the last moment. And yes, I even use it to pierce and we know how popular that has gotten lately! Can’t be without it!

  22. lacyquilteron 14 Apr 2008 at 11:00 am

Ooooo, I love this card. I always forget that I can do other things with my nesties beside cut. Favorite tool? Do I have to have just one? Love my cuttlebug, nesties, and my newest toy, my scor-pal.

  23. Jodyon 14 Apr 2008 at 11:18 am

Hmmm, my favorite tool is…my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I can’t get along with out this, besides using it for two-step stamping, I use it all the time to help “preview” a sentiment placement or that extra corner stamp. I even use it with my clear stamps.

Thanks for the chance to win some ‘blog candy’ !

  24. virginia killmoreon 14 Apr 2008 at 11:45 am

My favorite tool is my stampin a ma jig. it allows for precision stamping, and when I use it for my two step stamping sets it allows for ease of stamping! thanks for all you do you are such an inspiration.

  25. Harriet Skellyon 14 Apr 2008 at 11:50 am

Gorgeous card Jeanne! My favorite tools is my Cuttlebug, but right behind it are my Nesties and Scor-pal. Can’t use the Nesties with out the CB so that is why I put that one first!!

  26. Marijkeon 14 Apr 2008 at 12:00 pm

My favorite tool!! I don’t hav just one….I just love all my stamps!!! A few weeks ago I discovered, by accident, the beautiful stamps from Rubbernecker and since then I’ve already ordered there twice. Perhaps next week for the third time lol!!
By the way, I love your card, it’s fabulous!!

  27. Linda Marieon 14 Apr 2008 at 1:31 pm

Love this card! I’ll be glad when I can achieve that type of beauty w/my copics. My favorite tool would have to be my Big Shot to use those awesome nestibilities!

  28. JenMarieon 14 Apr 2008 at 1:53 pm

Oh, Beautiful card!!! Thanks for the chance to win some RN bucks!

  29. michelle gallon 14 Apr 2008 at 1:57 pm

wow one tool i have so many i love my crimper i just got it and iam having so much fun with it thank you michelle

  30. Tammy Son 14 Apr 2008 at 1:59 pm

My favorite tool (at this moment) is my paper-piercing template from the SU Mat Pack. I just got it and wish I would have gotten it years ago! I can finally have straight brads and stitches for faux stitching…

  31. Laurieon 14 Apr 2008 at 2:03 pm

Right now I would have to say that my favorite tool is my Wizard and my nestibilities. It seems that I use it on almost every card these days. Once I get the focal image stamped I figure out what shape I want and I Wizard away. Before the nesties, I rarely used my Wizard. I have a cuttlebug also, but for cutting I really like the Wizard. The ‘bug is great for embossing and small cuts with ‘bug dies.

  32. sandie994on 14 Apr 2008 at 2:10 pm

What a difficult question. I have several, my ATG gun, my big shot with nesties and folders, my prismas with gamasol, and so on….

  33. Sharon in NEon 14 Apr 2008 at 2:34 pm

I am having fun with my new ATG gun. I’m just looking for things to glue down.

  34. Hollyon 14 Apr 2008 at 2:48 pm

Love the card you made with the color challenge. I sat looking at all of the tools I have on my stamp desk trying to think which one was my favorite. I guess I will pick the one thing I use on every single thing I make; my Scotch ATG tape gun. I just love it! Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy.

I think my fave tool right now is my duck brand double sided adhesive- I use them all of the time! and I love my amuse stamps :-)

  36. Stephanie Hargison 14 Apr 2008 at 5:44 pm

Hmmm, I must admit that my favorite tool right now is my paper piercer and mat pack! I love the added touch they add!

  37. chelsey bubblegum girlon 14 Apr 2008 at 5:47 pm

my scor it board and my purple cows trimmer are my favs love the card

  38. WendyPon 14 Apr 2008 at 6:04 pm

I don’t know if I can pick just one favorite tool. I definitely have a few favorites that I use over and over, like my exacto knife, cuttlebug and aquapen.

  39. Marcion 14 Apr 2008 at 6:09 pm

My favorites tend to change. For today my favorite item is my Scor-pal. I don’t know how I lived without it!

  40. Susan Gon 14 Apr 2008 at 6:18 pm

I seem to pull out my paper piercing template from the mat pack a lot, so I guess that’s my favorite tool at the moment. I just got a Scor-Pal so I expect it will by my new favorite.

  41. bonnie weisson 14 Apr 2008 at 6:23 pm

Like the way you sponged around the edges, before removing the template.

My favorite tool…my Spellbinders Wizard…no wait, my tape gun…no wait, my Tonic cutter…no wait, my Crop-a-dile…no wait, my mini Scor-It board…no wait…I am so confused; what was the question?!!!

  42. Cindyon 14 Apr 2008 at 7:00 pm

I don’t think I can pick just one. I’m new to the paper crafting world and every time I use one of my new toys, I just smile because I’m glad I spent the extra money for something that works so well… my guillotine cutter (Tonic), my Scor Pal, my Stamp a ma jig, Cropodile Big Bite, and on and on. They are all so new to me, I love them all! My most used tool is my laptop! I love the blogs!

  43. Julianaon 14 Apr 2008 at 7:30 pm

My favorite tool would have to be my watercolor brush. I am not extremely skilled with it, but I do get a certain joy out of using it. My most used and most essential tool would be my paper cutter–but though he is a good work horse he is not my fav. (Sorry big Guy!)

  44. Cerindaon 14 Apr 2008 at 7:30 pm

My favorite tool is my Spellbinder Nestabilities! I also recently got a Crop A Dile and am having fun using rivets and eyelets with NO pounding! Woo-hoo!

  47. Cathyon 14 Apr 2008 at 10:12 pm

Great idea with the nestabilities! Pounce before removing, cool! Like the look alot! Let’s see, hmmm favorite tool? I use to have a really hard time gluing everything together, I got glue every where. Then I found the AMG tape thingy, I think that’s what it is called and now ….. no problem. I thought I would never use up all that tape, but surprise, I’m on my third roll! LOL! Fun Fun Fun. Thanks for all your inspiration and really great cards. Keep them coming! :0)

  48. Karen Hon 14 Apr 2008 at 10:17 pm

Gorgeous card as always…. I’d say I think I use my awesome teflon bone folder on every card (along my Scor Pal).

I got it at HSN on clearance (I looked last night and they are all gone) and it is the Karen Foster Scraparatus Eyelet and Die-Cutter Starter Crafts Kit, I can not get my eyelets right so I am hoping this does the trick for me!

  58. Tara Duvallon 15 Apr 2008 at 9:44 am

I’d have to say I love my cuttlebug embossing folders. They come in second to my stamps. Not suree stamps are considered a tool though. HUMMMMMMM.

  59. Gretchen Sheridanon 15 Apr 2008 at 11:44 am

Favorite tool…that’s hard, but I guess it would be my markers. I have SU markers and I love to color!!!
Second place would go to my Aquabrush for sure!
