Thankful For… MISTI Hop!

thankful2016

Welcome to the Thankful for the MISTI Blog Hop!

Comment on all the blogs along the way for chance to win two MISTIs (your choice of original or Mini) – one to for you, and one to your friend or relative that YOU are thankful for. Comment through Sunday on all blogs on the hop, and winners will be notified on Monday.

Why I am thankful for my MISTI

Perfect placement of sentiments every single time.
No more hunting for the correct sized block.
The ability to restamp in exactly the same place to get a nice solid image,
Chickens like the MISTI too.

I watercolored a splashy image (see colors below). After it was completely dry I stamped my sentiment with black ink. 1 Thankful Jeanne_Streiff

I inked up my leaf stamps in orange (Spiced Marmalade) and then tapped in a bit of deep red Aged Mahogany) ink randomly before stamping. Because it was on watercolor I needed to stamp more than once to get a nice solid image. I kept going stamping leaves until I had framed the sentiment.2 Thankful Jeanne_Streiff

I finished my card by adding some gold metallic tape from Hobby Tape under the sentiment words and adhering the panel to a kraft card base.

To enter the challenge go to the  Impression Obsession blog (all the details are there!). A random challenge card will be selected to showcase on the IO blog AND you can to enter to win a $25 gift certificate to IO!

My project uses CC258 Boxwood, E20164 Thankful and L20127 Long Stem Leaves Solid along with my MISTI (My Sweet Petunia).Thankful Jeanne_Streiff

I started by stamping CC258 Boxwood with my MISTI. I used tape to hold my cardstock in place so I could move a corner or two (and keep the others in place) between layers of ink. That way I cover all those spots. 1a Thankful Jeanne_Streiff

Next I stamped the L20127 Long Stem Leaves Solid stamp. I liked the way you can see the pattern through the leaves. 1 Thankful Jeanne_Streiff

I stamped the sentiment (E20164 Thankful) in black ink. I added some highlights with a white gel pen and sponged the edges with brown ink and assembled my card.2 Thankful Jeanne_Streiff
