Lydia Made Me Do It!

Lydia threw out a fun Mix-Ability Challenge (MIX 178) this week on Splitcoaststampers this week. The challenge was to take some stamps and mix them together to make a new creature. Come and play along with us. You can see the challenge HERE.

Here is what I came up with (with a little help from my Mini MISTI). I combined the Crazy Cats  and Bird Crazy  to make my cat/bird. catbird Jeanne_Streiff

I got my bird stamp in position on the Mini MISTI and inked the portion I needed. 1 catbird Jeanne_Streiff

Then I added the cat head. No masking! Super easy to do using the Mini MISTI because you can see where everything is going. I filled in the remaining neck area with a fine black pen.2 catbird Jeanne_Streiff

Close up… just because I love the expression on the cat’s face… ha!Peek Jeanne_Streiff

You Make Me Happy

Happy Friday!

I have a nice “anytime” card to share today using dies and stamps from Taylored Expressions. Love the color combination (which I swiped from a sweet card from Amy Crockett on Pinterest – thanks Amy!).

Glittered Celebrate!

I have a card to share today using a mix of embossing, die cutting glitter cardstock and a little painty fun with watercolors.

You can see the full product list below. IP Celebrate You Jeanne_Streiff

I broke out my trusty Sizzix Big Shot Machine for the embossing and die cutting. IP Celebrate You Jeanne_Streiff BS_edited-1

I embossed using my Big Shot Machine and Dotted Squares Textured Impressions on White 100# cardstock.Celebrate You 2 Jeanne_Streiff

Next I cut a panel from Prussion Aqua Blue Glitter 81# cardstock to use as a mat for my embossed panel. Oooh sparkly! The color is just yummy!IP Celebrate You 1 Jeanne_Streiff

Once you have your panel together add it to a white card back. This is one of my favorite embossing folders. The simple pattern works well with about everything.IP Celebrate You 3 Jeanne_Streiff

I die cut my Thinlits Celebration Words phrases from Prussion Aqua Blue Glitter 81# cardstock (same as I used for my mat). I used the Precision Base Plate for Thinlits Dies and it cut like butter through the Glitter cardstock. Don’t forget to use your Sizzix Die Brush for getting all the teeny paper pieces out of your dies. IP Celebrate You 4A Jeanne_Streiff

Here is another look at my card. You can see I added some random paint splatters in springy colors. I did this before adding the sentiment die cuts. Don’t be afraid to play around adding color like this to a project.  IP Celebrate You close Jeanne_Streiff

Hope you enjoyed my project. It was a fun and easy one to make.

Here are the supplies I used for today’s project:
