New Nest

Today is the day for a new challenge at Tiddly Inks!

The challenge is to create a project using any Wren image from Tiddly Inks.

I used the Wryn – New Nest image for my card along with some pretty paper (In The Zone collection) from The Paper Loft. The image was colored with Touch Twin markers. Dies from Sizzix.

MIX15 Extraordinary Torn Flower Tutorial

This is my card for this week’s Mix-Ability (MIX15) Challenge on Splitcoast. The challenge this week is to uses pieces of paper to create a scene or pattern on your project.

Here’s my card using paper from The Paper Loft, Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks from Clearsnap and white acrylic paint.

I started with a Straw cardstock card. Tear strips of patterned paper to fit front of card. Papers are from the Easy Breezy Collection from The Paper Loft.

Sponge all edges with Chestnut Roan Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink and assemble.

Tear circles that will become a flower from yellow and gold papers. Tear two leaf shapes from green paper.

Sponge flower parts with Amber Clay and Chestnut Roan Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink. I inked first with Amber Clay and then darkened some areas with Chestnut Roan ink.

Sponge leaves with Dark Moss Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink.

Once I had everything sponged a thinned down some white acrylic paint and splattered everything with an old paint brush.

Assemble your flower by crumpling a bit and layering from the biggest circle to the smallest. Add leaves attach to card. Add a brad (I have no idea where this one came from… I removed the prongs before attaching).

Wrap hemp twine around card and tie in a bow. Attach sentiment.
